Backtested / hypothetical results
The year-by-year results below are simulated fills generated by the TradingView Strategy Tester on real historical XAU/USD price data - they are not live broker trades. Hypothetical performance has inherent limitations: it is produced with the benefit of hindsight, does not involve real capital or live execution, and cannot fully account for spread, commission, overnight swap, slippage, liquidity, or market impact (large simulated position sizes in particular may not fill at the prices shown). No representation is being made that any account will, or is likely to, achieve profits or losses similar to these. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
14-Year Performance
The Strategy, Stress-Tested Year by Year
14 years of 5-minute XAU/USD data (2012-2026) on raw ECN pricing, compounding from a $200K starting account. Dollar P&L grows over time because position size scales with equity.
This is not a real account. The dollar column is a hypothetical compounding model - the pip record applied to a position size that scales with equity, starting from $200K. No account grew this way. It does not reflect variable spreads, slippage, execution delays, commissions, or the market impact of trading at that size. Judge the record in pips; pips do not compound.

Same gold · same 14 years · not the same result
Simply buying and holding gold over this stretch made money - but in the same backtest QP beat buy-and-hold by +$34.25M. The edge came from selective entries and automated recovery working the dips and the rips - not just a rising market.
* 2012 starts Jun 29 (partial). The current year is still running and updates as each trade closes. Where the boundary falls: everything up to August 21, 2026 is backtest, everything after it is live closed trades; the row and the 14-year totals recompute from the running pip count, compounded on a $200K start. No figure before that date ever changes. Trades are grouped by exit date. Returns are calculated on equity at the start of each year.
Disclaimer: These figures are drawn from 14 years of historical 5-minute XAU/USD data (raw ECN pricing, since 2012) up to August 21, 2026, plus live closed trades after it, and don't account for slippage, spread variations, or execution delays - so past performance doesn't guarantee future results. Trading gold carries a substantial risk of loss; only trade with capital you can afford to lose.
Historical and forward results. Clearly separated.
A backtest says how a strategy would have behaved. A forward test publishes the call before the outcome is known. They are reported separately because they deserve different amounts of trust.
Includes losing years, losing months and prolonged underwater periods. Reported in pips, not dollars - percent-of-equity sizing compounds and exaggerates everything.
Explore the historical record →This is a small sample and does not yet mean much statistically. It grows only as fast as real trades close, which is precisely why it can be checked.
