TradingView alerts that stop after a few weeks
Symptom: Everything worked, then signals stopped arriving with no error.
On some TradingView plans an alert carries an expiry date. When it passes, the alert stops. There is no email, no banner and no entry in any log - the automation simply goes quiet, and it usually goes unnoticed until someone checks why there have been no trades.
How to check
Open the alerts panel on the right of the chart. An expired alert appears greyed out or shows a past date. It can also be listed under a separate inactive section depending on your layout.
The fix
- On a plan that supports it, set the alert's expiry to open-ended. This is the real fix and it takes one edit.
- On a plan that does not, put a recurring reminder in your calendar to recreate the alert before it lapses.
- After recreating an alert, confirm the webhook URL and the tickbox survived - recreating from scratch loses them.
