The other half of the record

The Best of It

The strongest numbers the strategy has produced in fourteen years - best year, best month, longest winning run, and where the profit actually comes from.

Same record, same 979 closed legs, same method as the worst of it. Read both or neither - one without the other is marketing.

Now the honest part. Seven of the eight best months on this page are 2026, and 2026 alone is +84,604.1p of a +150,481.9p fourteen-year total - more than half the record from one exceptional trending year in gold. The strategy did not get better; the market got easier. Size your expectations off a normal year, not this one - so here is exactly what a normal year is.

So what is a normal year?

The 12 complete years of 2013-2024. 2012 is left out because the record only starts in June, and 2025-26 because that is the exceptional trend this whole page is about - leaving it in would make “normal” mean the boom.

A normal YEAR
+2,203p
median year · middle half ran +1,159p to +5,595p
A normal MONTH
+543p
median month · middle half ran -557p to +1,116p

Read the ranges, not just the middle. A quarter of all months finished worse than -557p, 31 of 100 months (31%) finished negative at all, and 3 of the 12 years lost money - the worst of them -3,482p. A normal year is not +2,203p arriving smoothly at ~543p a month. It is a scatter that happens to land there.

Median rather than average, deliberately: one exceptional year- 2025, at +23,930.1p-pulls the average far above the middle of the pack, to a level most years never reached. The median is the year in the middle, which is the one to plan around.

What the record is worth

The same lot sizes as the drawdown table, so you can read the reward and the risk on one line. Gold pays $10 per pip per 1.00 lot. The last column is the same account, same lot, in 2024.

Lot sizeTypical month (543p)Normal year (2,203p)Best month (17,347p)Best year (84,604p)Worst drawdown (-10,115p)
0.01$54$220$1,735$8,460−$1,012
0.05$272$1,102$8,674$42,302−$5,058
0.10$543$2,203$17,347$84,604−$10,115
0.25$1,358$5,508$43,368$211,510−$25,288
0.50$2,715$11,015$86,736$423,021−$50,575
1.00$5,430$22,030$173,471$846,041−$101,150

Flat arithmetic - pips × $10 × lot size. No compounding, no swap, no commission, and no allowance for your broker’s spread being wider than the reference feed. The typical-month column is the honest one to plan around: it is the median month across 2012-2024, and roughly one month in three finishes negative. The best-year column happened once, in a market that has not repeated. None of this is a forecast or a promise of income.

Where the profit actually comes from

The least obvious thing about QP: the main entry is under half of it. The recovery ladder - the part most people assume is damage control - is a third of the total, and the runner adds another quarter on a 66.5% win rate.

Recovery adds win only 40.6% of the time and still produce a third of the profit. They do not rescue losers - they multiply the trades that were going to work anyway, which is why filters that skip entries have consistently made the record worse.

2026, month by month

The best year in full - the mirror of 2024 on the worst-case page. Note July: even inside the strongest year on record there is a month that nearly flatlines.

Recomputed from the full record every time this page loads, so a new best month appears here the moment it closes. August 2026 is still running (+7,821.6p so far) and is not eligible until it finishes - a half-month is not a record.
